Has anyone bought from seller hardy512hook on Ebay? (AN, Hope Con, etc)

I bought two records off of him a few weeks ago, and I was given a bs story about how my paypal payment needed to be cleared by me giving positive feedback. I did as such, and I've waited a few weeks with no package. I emailed to simply ask if it was shipped and I was told it was with a tracking # and insurance, which he didn't provide. My next email asked for the tracking #, and he has yet to respond. I figured I'd ask here since many people were watching his items before I file a claim. Thanks!

noticed his stuff, but haven't dealt with him. have your emails with him been through ebay? i wouldn't sit on this for too much longer, considering you're out $200+. i hate to see buyers give shady sellers the benefit of the doubt and get screwed cuz of it. also, i like the detail he puts into auction titles. good luck dude.

His to me have been "You've received a message from seller:" but I just replied to his email address and not the respond button. Either way I have record of all the emails.

I've also heard from other people who have bid on his auctions that he was offering the items that I paid for but were "held" by ebay/paypal/whatever (and no fault of mine) for second chance offers. It's 45 days for a paypal claim right?

if he's not contacting you though, providing you the tracking #'s, etc., i personally wouldn't wait too much longer.

Thanks for the info, I'm very familiar with paypal claims just not through ebay since they've revamped their system and catered to the sellers exclusively.

i bought 2 of my AN demos off of him on ebay. didn't have any problem besides he was very slow responding to PMs.

I bought something on 10/9 from him and he said that he shipped it earlier in the week but that's all he said. It also took him 4 days to respond to my email. My theory is if you don't have the decency to respond and it's been 21 days with nothing then the 22nd day you get a claim notice.

just curious what hope con did you get cause i won the hope con - dead man's hand - white? i can't remeber what all he had going.

no it was the endnote silkscreen

seemed like like a straight cat cuz i also bought another rec from him and he emailed me and said it had been returned to him damaged and gave me a refund so i gave hm some more time. but the hope con hasnt showed up and he just keeps saying oh yeah i sent that but its been almost a month and no sign of it.

Believe me I didn't want to but this is ebay's fault for withholding the payment. I researched it and the only way they'd release the money is if I left the feedback, paypal "determined" that I received it, or 21 days had passed. It is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.

You can get his phone # through Ebay. Shitty how good his communication was until you paid.

It was even great until I asked about the tracking #. I already escalated it to a claim so I can get my money back faster and cited that he's done with this other winners of his auctions.

He told him that the payment wouldn't clear until he left feedback. Jesse had already paid him, and the dude was threatening to sell to 2nd highest bidder unless he left feedback so it could clear. He really had no choice since dude already had his money, I think he just wanted to do whatever so dude would ship them.

I bid on one of the records he won, in fact I was the 2nd highest bidder. He sent me a 2nd chance offer even after Jesse had paid. I refused to buy it and he then told me that they had everything worked out.

i sent him a message earlier and asked if my records had been shipped and he wrote back and said that they had. glad i saw this though so i know to keep tabs on this...

You should report him to eBay if he's blackmailing you into giving positive feedback before shipping the records. I can't imagine eBay would let him get away with it (especially if multiple people complain). Sellers can report buyers who threaten with negative feedback, so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do something similar.

Absolutely ridiculous if he's getting away with that crap. How much is he charging for shipping, incidentally? If it's $3 or more, he can easily cover delivery confirmation with media mail through paypal.

are you guys getting your stuff or claiming it? i had to file a claim, ive been ripped off 2 times recently, and he hasn't contacted me at all.

so he finally sent me a message after i filed a claim... says hes gonna go check with the post office. so here's to hoping.

I just filed a claim too. I put in the information box that I have evidence that he may be fraudulent and mentioned others are having problems with this guy.

Let's hope we get our records!

this happened to me one time. i sold a record to a kid in alaska and i was told i wouldn't get my money until after A) the buyer left positive feedback, or B) 21 days had past after the end of the auction and nothing happened. only happened once. i think ebay was trying something new and too many people bitched about it. kid got his record within 7 day after the auction ended but didn't leave feedback so i had to wait the 21 days. little bastard.

Hmmm, guess that puts a different spin on things, though it still sounds like the guy's pretty shady to me. And that only happened for one of your auctions, is that correct?

they cant find the package anywhere... so i am getting refunded. they cant find it, or he doesn't want to send me a darkest hour test press for 14 bucks, and a few other rare records for not that much. blah.

I just checked and I won a record from him about a 10days ago. I'll keep this thread updated.

im waiting on two records as well from before this thread was even started. i find the whole thing bizarre seeing as how he hasnt got any negative FB from anyone yet. guess we'll see... im gonna be keepin' tabs.

he's so borderline sketchy. I got refunded for my bigger items, but probably because i won them cheap. i'm still waiting for another refund, but it sucks cause those are records i'm never gonna get again. hopefully everything works out for you all, cause he was selling some awesome stuff, like the endnote silkscreen.

certainly not defending the guy on that because i think its super sketchy as well seeing as how he was trying to get around some new thing paypal was trying out but as far as ive read, he only asked one person to do that. he didnt ask me to do it and has told me my records have shipped. so i guess we'll see. dude will def be getting neg. FB from me if i dont get my records.

This is the message I got from him today:

I've tried multiple times to issue you a refund and this is what happens. I click issue full refund to resolve the issue and it takes me to request item returned screen so I just fill it out and figure I'd leave you a note and hope the refund will go through and it wont. I can't write a message to you or anything my only other choice is the prove shipping option and the other option. So you can contact paypal and see what is going on or close the dispute so I can send you your money back as a normal paypal transaction and we can be done with this mess, unless you can figure out something on how to make it work in paypal. I say close the dispute so I can refund you instead of waiting for god knows how long to see any money because of this paypal mess. Let me know I guess. Thanks.

And this is what I responded:

Yeah, no I will not close the claim. You have done this to multiple people now and you are still putting items up for auction that you probably can't follow through on. So you said that you sent it out early last week and now it's "I've tried multiple times to issue you a refund"? So which is it? The fact of the matter is that your a fraud, loser, scam artist, and overall dick wad. So how about telling paypal that you are all of the above mentioned and tell them to let everyone know who has bid on your items that your a douche. Now in simple terms of what I said for a simple mind. Go fuck yourself for you've been doing that to others here. Enjoy the claim and I hope this completely screws up your scam!!

at least your getting some kinda response dj. i havent heard shit from him and im the one that bought the silkscreen hope con. the paypal claim is taking forever to make it worse.

also most likely if he really is scamming people, which it appears so, he would have already removed the money from his paypal account meaning you wont get any cash back even if you do win the claim.

my main claim went through and i got my money back. but if he supposedly sent them out, and they got lost in the mail, he sure accepted that and gave me my money back easily.. as in he never sent them out to begin with. i also ordered another record from him later, he said he probably sent it with the first set, and will refund me on that after he checks if he did. was supposed to do that today, no word from him.

he doesnt respond to his email, so far only through a paypal claim, and then later through ebay.

im worried for everyone cause he seems to be just on the edge of scamming and there are some big items still floating around.
so if we all get our money back... wtf is happening with these records?

I sent him a message on ebay today to see when my record was shipped out. He replied pretty quickly (within 3hrs) and said they went out this past monday. That's 8 days after I won and paid for the auctions.

that is if he actually sent it out.

i sent messages to a couple people who left feedback and bought records to see what their responses are.

Even if he has no money in his paypal balance, it will draw from his checking account. If he doesn't have it in his checking, it will overdraw and it will charge him overdraft fees.

no it wont.
paypal claims will not automatically draw from the bank account.
and you can put a block on paypal free to reverse any charges.
plus you can take the money out and close your bank account too.

my friend has had a negative balance in paypal for over 2 years now. they havent touched his bank account, but they do occassionally send him an email to tell him his account is limited, ha, not that it does any good, cause he just opened up a new account.
